PAWS – Charity Shop Update – 21st August 2014
Well, our shop is now in its 9th month of operation and it is going from strength to strength.
Many people have asked why we do not move into town as they cannot get to us during our open hours of 10h00 – 14h00. The reasons are, that in town, we would have to pay a high rental and in addition we would be expected to be open more than double the number of hours a week, compared to our present 16 hours a week.
Running a shop with those hours and with all volunteer staff would require at least 30 plus dedicated volunteers. In a place such as Knysna, this is possible, but in Plettenberg Bay it was a struggle to get 10 dedicated volunteers with our present shop.
As you can, if we had to pay salaries for shop workers and a high rental, the amount of money made for PAWS would be far less than we are presently making. Where we are presently situated, all of the money made by your donations of goods to the PAWS Charity Shop goes to PAWS and not in pay high rentals and salaries.
Please help us to help those who cannot speak for themselves by donating your unwanted goods to PAWS.
If you need goods collected, a phone call to me is all that is required. Roger 082 723 2297.
PAWS charity shop is located at 11 Hutchinson Street, in the Industrial Area and we are open from 10h00 – 14h00, Tuesday to Friday.
