World’s number 1 maths pupil from Plett
Bay College, a small Cambridge International School in Plettenberg Bay, has produced the world’s top mathematics student.
Kurt Coetzer, completed his AS (Advanced Subsidiary) examinations during October and November 2012.
He wrote 2 mathematics papers and achieved 100%. In 2010 he completed his IGCSE examinations (comparable to Grade 10) and achieved 99%.
Born in Knysna and raised in Plett, he has been strong academically since his days at Plett Primary although it wasn’t until he got to high school that he really started soaring.
