Update: Dr Evil this weekend
The Dr Evil Classic three-day stage race takes place over the weekend of September 19, 20 and 21. Route designer Leon Evans (aka Dr Evil) has committed to keeping each day at a distance below 80 kilometres.
This ensures that this world class route is accessible to fun-seekers and more experienced riders alike. Route maps and profiles can be viewed at www.drevilclassic.com.
Cyclists will traverse game and equestrian farms, and the route will include some single-track riding for all experience levels.
Wittedrift High School is the start and finish point for this race. Beneficiaries include Wittedrift High School and Plettenberg Bay Rotary.
Unlike last year, the Dr Evil Classic is now a separate event to the Pennypinchers Die Burger Lions Karoo to Coast that takes place on September 22, although many of the participants will compete in both.
For the convenience of the riders, shuttles have been made available to take them to Uniondale after an easier day three. Those who participate in both races will receive a preferential start at the Lions Karoo to Coast, with prizes up for grabs for the best performances in both events.
Entries closed with 200 participants signed up to take on the challenge.
