Sports Mad Graeme Joffe Hits Plett’s Air Waves
Sports Mad Graeme Joffe Hits Plett’s Air Waves with his new show Sportsfire.
Sue van der Gaast from MC90.3FM is very excited to be airing this show on Mondays and Thursday 17:30-18h30 and goes on to explain “ It’s doubtful anyone loves sport as much as Graeme Joffe.
Rugby, soccer, Formula One, squash, tennis… You name it, he loves it. Now he’s bringing that passion to the airwaves with his new show Sportsfire on MF90.3FM.
Better known to 94.7Highveld listeners as ‘Joffers-my-boy’, Joffers left the station earlier this year to pursue other dreams. “Getting up at 4.30am every day for eight years really changes one’s life. It was an incredible time, I had lots of fun. I’ve always wanted to present my own sports show and now, I get to do it.”
Described as a ‘no-nonsense, straight talking sports call-in show’, listeners should not expect mainstream sport to take up the airwaves. Morningside resident Joffe is determined to give every code in our sport-mad country a chance, even bringing past sports heroes on to the show. “My last guest was Roland Watson, one of the greatest squash players of the late ’70s and’80s. It’s great hearing from these guys and getting their advice to younger players.”
Other guests on the show have included Gideon Sam, Gary Kirsten, Francois Botha, Penny Heyns, Lance Klusener, George Coetzee and Bruce Fordyce. Sharing the studio with Joffe is rugby analyst Dan Retief while funny man Malcom Ferreiragives audiences the lighter side of sport.
Tuneinto Sportsfire on MC90.3FM every Monday and Thursday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm You can also listen in on DSTV 169 or streaming live on www.1485.org.za or follow Graeme Joffe on twitter on @joffersmyboy.
