Plett Athletics Club Youth Day Trail Run
Plett Athletics Club Youth Day Trail Run at The breath taking Kranzhoek View Point
Only the die hard trail runners of Plett Athletics Club braved icy winds blowing across the cliffs of Kranzhoek View Point on Monday morning, for the clubs social family trail run. 25 tough trail runners took part, some of which were also out on the mountains competing in the Outeniqua Traverse on Saturday.
The cold weather helped 8 year old Nathan Meggersee speed around the 3km route, coming in first in 18 mins. The first male home in the 9 km trail was Mike Van Vuuren (who ran the 38 km Outeniqua Traverse on Saturday). First lady in on the 9 km was Janet Woodhead (who ran the 25 km Outeniqua Traverse on Saturday).
The first 3 home in the longer 13km route were Dylan Van Wyk (also the lead runner), Carlo Botha and Louise Montagna.
After the run breakfast was braaied in the winter sunshine by the waterfall, followed by a hike along the magnificent coastal path. Well done to all who braved the cold, well worth the effort!
