Let the games begin!
The annual Discovery Plett Easter Games takes place over the Easter weekend, March 29 to April 1.
The weekend will see adventure-loving athletes competing in a diverse range of events including trail running, surf-ski paddling, mountain-biking, an open-water swim, a township run, a golf challenge and a Kids King of the Beach competition.
Since its inception in 2011, The Discovery Plett Easter Games has seen steady growth in support and event organisers. Nature Sport Company is anticipating an even bigger turnout for this year.
There will be a total of 11 events taking place over the four days, starting with the Pennypinchers Trail Run and MTB Nite Relay at Cairnbrogie Farm and the Discovery Team Golf Challenge at Plett Country Club on day one.
Day two’s events centre around Plett’s Central Beach and are kicked off with The Beacon Isle Mile Surf swim, followed by the Pennypinchers Singles Surf-Ski Challenge and later the Discovery MTB Series, with the Pennypinchers Doubles Surf-Ski Challenge rounding off the day’s events.
Day three is all about the kids and gives the up-and-coming athletes of the future the opportunity to show off their skills in the Discovery Easter Kids King of the Beach Challenge.
The fourth and final day of the weekend will see runners lining up for the high-energy, Discovery Tamodi Kwanokuthula Township run.
