Plett Tourism Newsletter – July 2013
Hello there…
The Plett brand is continuing to build, mostly through the recent and upcoming events. The Wedge Classic and Tour de Plett helped reinforce our new positioning as will the upcoming Land Art. We also introduced the logic behind our positioning and the work we want to do through an insert in CXpress and What’s New. We have had some really good feedback and some helpful advice.
The 2nd Site_Specific International Land Art Biennale is just around the corner – it takes place from 10 – 17 August 2013! There will be 20 local and national artists creating land art; beach calligraphy workshops; a photographic workshop and an Eco-Art walk.
The Site_Specific info desk opens at the Beacon Island Resort at 14h00 on Saturday 10 August, and the first event takes place at 10.30am on Sunday 11 August at the junction of the R339 and R340. It’s the unveiling of “Calling the Herd” by international land artist Strijdom van der Merwe, and this is the second permanent land art piece along the Eden to Addo Land Art Route.
For full programme details and further information, please go to the stunning www.sitespecific.org.za and follow the event on facebook.com/sitespecific.landart.

Far and wide
The property market was the subject of a positive article in the Wall Street Journal, and featured some photographs of properties taken by Rob Smith. This is the kind of publicity that Plett Tourism will be working hard to get for our town in the months ahead.
