R2.3m bonus for fired Eskom chief
Former Eskom chief executive Jacob Maroga was paid a R2.3-million performance bonus in February despite being fired last year for poor performance, the High Court in Johannesburg heard yesterday.
His lawyer, Vincent Maleka, said that last year Maroga received a handwritten note from then Eskom chairman Bobby Godsell thanking him for his good leadership. He also achieved a score of 70% in his job assessment.
