Adopt a Swimmer
Adopt a Swimmer was officially registered as a non-profit organisation on 20 March 2013.
Run by two qualified learn-to-swim coaches Gareth Menton and Louise Auersperg, they work tirelessly to raise funds and individual sponsorship to cover the costs of teaching our young kids to swim. It is estimated that 80% of youth in the Plett community cannot swim and we believe that is largely due to the expense of ongoing swimming lessons. At present we are teaching 10 children from Born in Africa, 12 children from Cecelia’s shelter for abandoned children and 3 children for Geneses orphanage in Harkeville.
All funds raised went towards transporting groups of kids to and from the pool, pool fees, admin, marketing, training & treats.
