Pop-up Restaurant – Blue Chilli at Eventide Lodge
Eventide Lodge were delightful hosts of the new ‘Pop up’ Restaurant, which took place on Sunday the 26th of March 2017.
On arrival guests were treated to a complimentary Mojito Welcome drink. And after much anticipation enjoyed The Mexican Feast, which included a delicious three-course meal – starting with Nachos Grande, Mexican firecrackers and prawn chimichangas. All followed by beef and chicken enchiladas with John’s famous side dishes and a sweet ice-cream treat ending.
It is wonderful to to see how Elizabeth Barns, who bought Eventide two years ago, has done an amazing job renovating the units and establishing an English country garden, which has an abundance of birds and butterflies. Here guests are free to sit and enjoy the beauty of their surroundings. Guests were also treated to an introduction to the Mischa Estate wines, which is Elizabeth’s family vineyard.
The property runs right down to the river where guests have the use of the canoe to paddle along the river. There is a 200 year old oak tree, 100 year old fig trees and copious lemon trees that provide fresh lemons almost all year round.
There are two braai areas for guests to utilise as well as a swimming pool and a deck to enjoy the sunsets in the evening. The dogs enjoy interacting with the guests and are all friendly. It is an ideal retreat to just relax and unwind.
The Lodge is situated ten minutes from the Plett beaches, 10 minutes from Keurbooms and 15 minutes from The Crags, so for those wanting to see all the attractions around the area it is a great central place to stay. For more information contact Bridget via email.
