John Wilschut Signs gives thanks
Hi everyone. Well as I am sure you all know by now, in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 21 March, a petrol bomb was thrown into the building of Havenga Kasta, which not only completely desecrated Wessels’ building and all his belongings, but also destroyed Franz, The Lawnmower Man’s building and belongings. Our building Neon Art/John Wilschut Signs along with Routing Etc was also destroyed. We really need to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped us and we are just hoping we don’t leave anyone out. If we nave, we are so sorry, but the brain cells are a bit frazzled.
Firstly, Garin Andrews from Whalerock Resorts who not only phoned but also rushed up to our home, letting’ us know what was happening. Then MIKE DU PREEZ, you are the Man Bru. No, you are the MAIN DUDE. Mike went into the blazing building with the fire department to try and get the vehicle that was parked inside out and save some of the computers. Hedley Venter of the Fire Department and his team are smoking hot! Thank you. This team of fire fighters really went the extra mile to help salvage what they could and even went as far as chaining the doors closed once they had the fire under control so that our contents would be safe from looters. Dean Mann thank you for looking after Yvette on the traffic circle in her fluffy gown and fury slippers as John had to stay at home to look after Tanner, our cerebral palsied son. Thank you Maanie from Hobbies & Hardware. Yvette woke you up at 3 in the morning to get padlocks to give to the fire department, so that they could lock the premises. Atu7h30 in the morning of the public holiday, our staff arrived there in full force. They were shocked and devastated and really worried whether or not they all had jobs. We ail looked at the scene and decided the best thing we could do was to go to Wimpy for breakfast, so we did.
On Thursday morning we cannot believe how many people phoned and came to help us move whatever we could out. Thank you to all of you. Patrick and Rudi from Enrico’s Fishing Charters arrived with their vehicles and helped. Petrus van den Mescht, Phillip Engelke and Mike Du Preez, you are amazing for spending two full days helping us, tirelessly without a break, attempt to get whatever we could out and getting the rest to wherever, so that nothing was left to be taken, even if it was burnt beyond recognition. Bev and Mike, Nicole and Patrick, Graham and Glenda and Ian & Terri, thank you for opening your homes to store very smelly files and paperwork that we salvaged. Aubri and Josh of AWA Engineering, thank you for rushing down with your flat-bed truck ant’ crane to move one of the machines out and store it at your factory. Thank Aunty Crystal Greenwood for fetching and carrying staff. So, Aaron, Annie, Anita, Ben, Bassie, Ellen-ice, Elton, Fick, Jason, JV, Krokkie, Lean-dre, Liezen, Lungani, Maggie, Maureen, Mike, Natasha, Neliswa, Petrus, Phillip, Randall, Samantha and Solly, here we are. Yes we are in a crisis, but it is how we deal with it that will determine the outcome. Lets rise to and embrace the challenge, we are a strong team and we will come out on the other side. We have secured new premises in Robberg Road and all going according o plan, we will be trading again by Wednesday 28 March 2012.
Thank you to those of you from Wittedrift High, Fomosa Primary, Murray High, Masizame, Die Sterreweg, Parish of Formosa, OASIS Counseling Centre and Plett Evangelical Fellowship for offering to help with the clean-up, storage place etc etc, you guys ROCK!
