Map opens Lowveld to tourists
A 4m tall map of the Lowveld and various iconic tourist attractions can be seen when entering the arrival carousel at the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA).
This, the Kruger Lowveld hopes will point tourists in the right direction when deciding which activities they would like to participate in.
The map features various tourist related activities such as the Blyde River Canyon, bird watching sites, nature reserves, the Cradle of Life, the Kruger National Park, the Montrose, Libson and Berlin Falls, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and more.
Lisa Sheard from Kruger Lowveld, which falls under the Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism, says the map will also assist tourists with the distances between towns which can help with travel arrangements.
Sheard also said that the idea behind the map is to let visitors see what Mpumalanga has to offer while waiting for their luggage at the carousel. Also available to tourists, are essential tourism information and telephone numbers that they might need to use during their stay.
The Lowveld has so much more to offer. The map allows visitors to visit other parts of the province outside the Kruger National Park. Even locals can opt for the road less traveled and visit surrounding towns to see why the province is so great!
