Lowveld Air Show 2014
The return of the Lowveld Air Show was a major success, it was said that about 5000 people flocked to the airfield to enjoy an exhilarating day of aerobatic displays in Nelspruit.
More than 50 aeroplanes and helicopters took part in the show. Some of the crowd favourites included:
- A fire fighting display by the largest collection of Huey helicopters since the Vietnam War.
- The Eqstra Flying Lions – 3 AT6 Harvards doing some amazing flying formations and tricks with their white smoke trails following them.
- Gabriel Wings Aerobatic Team – an aerobatic team of Pits Specials flying formations mere meters off the ground.
- Bush Air pilot, CC Pococks amazed the crowd with his crazy flying and pyrotechnics techniques as he flew through a wall of fire.
- The skydivers opening the show with the biggest SA flag you have ever seen.
