East Rand Flea Market (East Rand Traders Square), Boksburg

East Rand Flea Market, East Rand Traders Square, BoksburgThe East Rand Traders Square is considered to be one of South Africa’s favourite flea markets for tourists and locals alike. This vibrant market has over 500 stores, taking bargain hunting to a new level. For the tourist, there is a wide selection of African artwork, including wood carvings, beaded wire work and hand-crafted items.

Expect to find creative designs in jewellery and clothing and bargain prices on just about anything. Many of the stalls are indoors, where loads of fabrics and fashions are on offer. The flea market also has endless stalls full of cheap plastic toys, sunglasses, shoes, and electronic items.

Once you have built up an appetite with all the browsing, there are numerous vendors where you can get a hot dog, samoosa or boerewors roll, and maybe get to see some entertaining street performances.

Across the road is the huge, stylish East Rand Mall, so if you would like a more sophisticated bite or a steaming cappuccino, all the mall facilities and shops are close by.

24 Hour security and plenty of safe parking means that you can spend a worry free day at Johannesburg’s favourite market which is open daily, except Monday from 9h00 to 17h00.

The East Rand Flea Market is just 7 kilometres from the OR Tambo International Airport at 1 Pond Road, North Boksburg – off the M44 (North Rand Road).
