Algoa gets “Gas” with Roland Gaspar
Well-known and loved by TV viewers as the “Get bucks” guy who burned the braai; the man from “MiWay” doing coffee your way, or the “Makro Man” with a live-in plan, Roland Gaspar has been announced as Algoa FM’s new afternoon Drive show host.
“Roland is a consummate professional with whom we have had many positive dealings and we’re excited about the new show,” says Dave Tiltmann, managing director of Algoa FM.
The announcement follows Wayne Hart’s decision to take up an offer with a local corporate during weekdays.
“Whilst I’ve already been doing some activations and crossings with the team at Algoa FM, I feel truly privileged to be joining such a dynamic media brand and can’t wait to share the afternoons with Algoa Country,” says Gaspar.
He was schooled on the East Rand and studied accounting before relocating to Nelson Mandela Bay 20 years ago. Since then he has been involved in radio, television, comedy, compering, acting and social media.
“Aside from an in-depth passion for communication, Roland just happens to be a great guy and I am confident that our audience will quickly become fond of him,” says operations director, Alfie Jay.
“We welcome him onto the team and wish him every success with us,’ added Tiltmann.
Roland’s first official afternoon show will take to the airwaves on Monday 4 September.
