On 14 September Martin Hatchuel will present the first of two talks: I’m Social media. How do you do?
Martin has worked in tourism since 1983 and has been writing about it since 1996. He started his blog – This Tourism Week – in 2002, when blogging itself was only 5 years old. His lively talk will include two presentations: an introduction to the idea of social media (he calls this presentation, ‘The Social Web for Grannies’), and a more in-depth dive into the world of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and others (‘Wrestling with the social web’) – during which he’ll explain who uses these various platforms, and how you can, too.
Martin is a Chartered Public Relations Practitioner and is passionate about responsible tourism, and about the new world of destination marketing and destination management. You’ll find his resume and some of his more popular presentations on these topics on SlideShare: https://www.slideshare.net/MartinHatchuel1. In his latest project for tourism in Knysna, he wrote and built the new www.knysnamuseums.co.za web site for the Knysna Municipality.
