Festival offers Trail Clinic
This year’s Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival offers trail runners numerous trail running events. To assist these trail runners in getting the best out of their chosen sport Trail Town Festival offers two Knysna Trail Clinics in partnership with TRAIL Magazine on July 6 from 13:00 – 18:00 at the beautiful Simola Hotel, Country Club & Spa.
Mark and John Collins, members of the world renown adventure race Expedition Africa winning team, Team Featherbed Painted Wolf will be joined by Trail Mag founder, Deon Braum to assist athletes to discover their abilities that will help them run faster and further than they ever thought possible.
Athletes will be taken through the art of trail running with this fun, powerful, practical trail running clinic. The Collins brothers and Braum, top trail runners will teach runners how to improve their training, nutrition, gear technique and strength.
Clinic one is a basic clinic that costs R100 per entry and will start at 13:00 till 15:00.
The advanced Clinic Two is for the more adventurous and experienced trail runners. During this clinic Braum and the Collins brothers will discuss the technique and elite runner tips in depth to take athletes’ running to the next level. This Clinic starts at 16:00 and continues until 18:00. Entry costs R200 and includes a night run.
All attendees are reminded to bring along their trail shoes, trail apparel, track suit and a headlamp with batteries. A rain jacket and cap/beanie is recommended if July 6 turns out to be a windy or rainy.
