Excitement builds for inaugural Garden Route Fat Bike Challenge
Set to take place on Friday 14th April at 09h00 from the Village Green in Sedgefield as part of the 8th Slow Festival (14- 16 April), excitement has been building for the inaugural Garden Route Fat Bike Challenge over the last weeks as the organisers have been putting the final plans in place for the event.
“For all those who’ve always wanted to explore jeep tracks across vegetated fossil dunes and ride along some of the most spectacular sections of the Garden Route’s coastline, this is your chance” said Mark Dixon, race organiser and owner of AMD Odyssey Tours.
“Although the route is relatively short, just 30km, make no mistake that it’s a challenging ride!’ said Dixon.
Pre-entries will close on Tuesday 11th April at midday and thereafter entries can be made on the day of the event at registration on the Village Green from 07h45-08h45, the briefing will take place at 08h50 and the race will start at 09h00.
There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs, including two awesome lucky draws of a 2 night stay at AfriCamps, valued at R4180 and a 1 hour trip for 2 on the Knysna RIB Adventures!
