Sheer Grit Determination And Travelling At 100 Km
Sheer Grit Determination And Travelling At 85 Km
Last weekend saw the Hot Heels 2014 world downhill skateboarding world cup come to Pringle Bay.
The valley in the Kogelberg Biosphere came alive with men and women donning racing suites and space like helmets all to take part in this nerve racking, high speed sport.
It takes a special kind of person to want to willing travel, only a skateboard down a extremely high and long hill trying to break speed records with little more than a thin leather suit protecting you.
This sport is slowly grabbing world wide attention and we can honestly see why. Though as mentioned not for everyone the spectator side of things is a lot different. Knuckles grow white, breath becomes shallow and nerves race just watching these guys come down the hill at break neck speeds.
Riders can reach up to and beyond 100 Km per hour!
Here are a few photos of the day, we hope to see you there next year!
