The Book we have our Nose in this Month is….
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Why?This book topped the New York best sellers list of 2013, over and above rave reviewed, cult classic 50 Shades of Grey. The story goes, a beautiful, smart woman goes missing on her and her husbands 5th wedding anniversary. The husband, “husband of the year” doesn’t help the investigation by dreaming of the curve and shape of her head. Her diary reflects that she a driven perfectionist with a personality that could put anybody on edge. Her husband, along with his twin sister maintains his innocence. While the pressure mounts her loved ones begin to question if they really knew her, the box uncovered in the back of her cupboard doesn’t help matters either. If her husband didn’t do it then where did she go...thrilling!

Leonardo Di Caprio plays an obnoxious, talented, off the rails New York stock broker who refuses to assist the American government with a large securities fraud case that is tied to the mob and the corporate banking world. What ensues is chaos fuelled by drugs, sex, power, money and the opulence and grace of those involved. This movie directed by Martin Scorsese has already won numerous Golden Globe Awards and is set to win a few Oscars this year…hooked!

This Weekend we’ll be…

There are 2 large double braai’s so bring along your meat and drinks. The adventurous can sail along behind the boat on the rubber tubes provided or the ladies can catch some sun on the upper deck. The scenery from aboard the boat has never been so beautiful. There are life jackets aboard and an eco-friendly toilet. This is the perfect setting to unwind...ahhh we can feel ourselves relaxing already!
