ShowMe DIY – Things You Don’t Have To Throw Away!
Things You Don’t Have To Throw Away!
Here are a few items that we always throw away that you can reconvert into handy and useful items around the house.
Saving you time and money, it pays to be crafty!
Shoeboxes – Give them to your kids, let them create robots, boats or doll houses of their own using bits and bobs from around the house. This is a great idea especially during the winter holidays when they cannot play outside.
Candle Jars – You get a beautiful candle as a gift and once it has been used you toss the glass holder. With some elbow grease and boiling water you’ll have a beautiful jar to re-purpose.
Beer bottles – Make your own goblets by cutting off the base, gluing the neck of the bottle to the base. Find out more here.
Cans – Do you have an empty jam can or canned fruit can? Do not throw them away, instead sand the edges down and wrap them in material or colorful wrapping paper to create a funky stationery holder.
Liquor bottles – Use beautiful crafted liquor bottles as soap dispensers in adult bathrooms for an unusual but design forward look! Simply buy a soap dispenser tube and place it in the bottle of your choice.
Wine corks – Start collecting wine corks or ask wine estates in the area if they have any spare. Glue them all together in a shape that you like, add a hanging hook on the back and create a chalk board with a difference.
