Entries open for Helderberg Mountain Challenge 2015
Entries have opened for the Helderberg Mountain Challenge (HMC), one of the toughest and most brutal trail runs available to enthusiasts!
The race forms part of the Mountain Challenge Series 2015, and is one of three events alongside the Jonkershoek Mountain Challenge (JMC) and Marloth Mountain Challenge (MMC). Runners can choose to compete for the best overall time in the Series as a whole (with over R50 000 in prize money to be won) or simply do one or two of the three races.
The Helderberg Mountain Challenge has everything to offer – forest, incredible fynbos, boulder hopping near the summit, narrow ridge line running, incredible views, tricky slopes and traverses below huge rock faces!
Runners can choose from the following courses at the HMC:
– 24km Helderberg Mountain Challenge (HMC)
– 15km Helderberg Mountain Challenge Lite (HMC Lite)
– 10.75km Helderberg Mountain Run (HMR)
The race will take place on the 17th May 2015 at the Helderberg Nature Reserve and one does not need to be a member of an athletics club to compete. Proceeds will go to the Friends of Helderberg Nature Reserve.
Pre-entry online is advisable and there are early bird entry fees up until 27 February 2015. Entries will close Tuesday, 12 May 2015 or when capacity is reached.
