Dear Friends of George Child & Family Welfare,
We challenge you to share our vision as we DARE TO BE DIFFERENT at our 9th annual ladies tea this year. On the 17 June we will be hosting 300 ladies at Fancourt Hotel Banqueting hall, and look forward to showcasing what services George Child and Family Welfare offer in our community. We are DIFFERENT, we do things differently, we are unique, and we constantly aspire to spread a little HOPE AND HAPPINESS.
Since 1926, we continue to be humbled as we serve those in need. The George Child and Family Welfare ladies tea is one of our main annual fundraisers of the year, and is coordinated by a small group of dedicated volunteers. YOU too can share our vision to do things differently, to challenge the norms and to deliver unique services to those in crisis. We trust that you will share our desire to spread a little hope and happiness, by joining us in becoming a sponsor of this much anticipated fundraising event.
As we have no industry in George it is very difficult to find sponsors, we will appreciate if you are able to assist in one of the following areas i.e. goodies for 300 goodie-bags, prizes for our raffle, lucky draws and/or our much anticipated silent auction. You are also encouraged to purchase a ticket for your staff members, friends and family (What a double blessing at only R300 per person), alternatively you can sponsor a ticket for a less fortunate woman and make her day.
Each year we open a Facebook photo album of sponsors where we are able to promote your brand and thank you in the 2017 sponsors DARE TO BE DIFFERENT album. Please visit last year’s photo album to see what we are up to https://www.facebook.com/pg/George-Child-and-Family-Welfare-361495670544735/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1243701118990848 Furthermore, we can issue a Section 18A certificate for cash donations received.
Chantal Rutter Dros, an award winning investigative journalist and presenter who is well known among South African audiences, will be our 2017 DARE TO BE DIFFERENT guest speaker. Her career in mainstream television and radio current affairs and news industry spans close on two decades. Visit http://www.chantalrutter.com We have been blessed at previous teas to have awesome guest speakers such as Brent Lindeque (Good Things Guy), Derek Watts (Carte Blanche) Ryan O’Connor (KFM) and Bruce Walsh (Survivor of Planet Hollywood bombing in CTN).
Fancourt Hotel kindly sponsors our venue, accommodation and some prizes, as they continue to support our fundraising tea since 2010. Without their commitment we would not be able to host this much anticipated, and largest ladies tea event in the Garden Route. Each lady attending receives a fantastic goodie bag, and lovely lucky draw prizes (last year we gave each lady a lucky draw prize). The morning offers super entertainment and an inspirational talk, while ladies sit down and enjoy a delectable breakfast.
Last year, our “A Heart Full of Happiness” themed ladies tea raised more than R95 000. This money was used to continue running our BUDDY BUS program, where we take services into the community. These services include therapy sessions, both individual and group, recreational activities, skills training and homework assistance, while each child gets a healthy meal.
Feel free to visit our Facebook page and view our ladies tea photo albums of the past few years.

We work very hard to keep expenses to a minimum as we recycle and upcycle décor so as not to waste money raised. We continue to make sure those Each year the challenge to raise funds gets harder, yet the needs of the community get greater, but we always manage to touch the hearts of friends, and make new ones, and this year we DARE you to step up and to assist us.
We are confident that we will once again be able to spoil the ladies of George, who together with YOU, our sponsor, will make this fundraising initiative a huge success! Thank you for your kind consideration as we wait in anticipation for your favourable response.
