Hillside Horses, Stutterheim, Eastern Cape

Stutterheim Horse Riding in ForestsHillside Horses in Stutterheim in the Eastern Cape has Ginger Driver as the owner. Ginger is one of those absolutely fabulous, warm people who epitomises the rural ‘mamma’ that not only loves what she does for a living but is also utterly devoted to her brood of horses. The Eastern Cape Horse Society has awarded her a Life Service Award in recognition of her dedication and contribution to the youth of the Eastern Cape equestrian community.

It is not surprising that Ginger identified Stutterheim as an ideal spot for a horse establishment. The indigenous forests are perfect – dappled trails, mountain views, waterfalls, flora and fauna and birds galore.

Ginger’s rides cater to all levels of experience, so if you are a beginner, you are in the right hands.

The 2 Hour ‘Circular Route’ (maximum of 6 people) is suitable for all riders, including beginners. If a novice, the ride will be at walking pace, enjoying the surroundings. The ride passes one of our feature sites, the 88 year old Anderson Dam and waterfall.

The 3 Hour Ride ‘One of the Best’ (maximum of 6 people) takes your more experienced riders via old logging paths past the waterfalls, with a picnic stop along the way.

They say that once you have ridden a horse, especially through magnificent forests, the memory will live with you forever.  Telephone 082 682 6425.
