We really do love it here. It’s beautiful, it has character, the people are friendly, there is plenty to do, we have some of the best beaches and surfing spots in the world and we have one of the best climates all year round.

The German Settlers Memorial on East London’s Esplanade. This monument was erected in remembrance of more than 2,000 German settlers who arrived in the city in 1858.
Nahoon Beach is a slice of paradise for swimmers and surfers and is arguably our most popular beach.
The Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium and East London Golf Course are known all over the globe, with some of the world top sports people visiting our superb grounds.
The type specimen of the Coelacanth, a fish previously believed to have become extinct some 80 million years ago, is on display at the East London Museum.
