ADT Security Officer, Musawenkosi Khumalo, was on bicycle patrol when a postman informed him that he could hear a baby’s cries coming from the verge. Upon investigation, Khumalo discovered a newborn baby boy in a black refuse bag. He immediately contacted the ADT control room; and ADT Community Security Scheme (CSS) Supervisors, Alexius Zungu and Thandiwe Zondi, arrived at the scene within minutes of the call.
Supervisors Zungu and Zondi immediately transported the baby to Crompton Hospital for further medical attention.
Ivan Govender, ADT Security Durban South Branch Manager, praised the officer and supervisors for their vigilance and swift response. “We are thankful to report that the baby boy is healthy and doing well in the care of the Crompton Hospital staff.”
