Recently Spotted at Hirsch Umhlanga, Patrick Lambie
Born and raised in Durban, excelled at rugby from a young age…
He played for his high school, Michaelhouse, and soon became the first-team captain, as well as head boy and captain of the cricket team. Fresh out of school, Patrick was headhunted by the Sharks under-21 provincial team and became the top points scorer of the 2009 Absa Currie Cup. After proving that he was a valuable asset, he moved up to the Sharks senior team for the 2010 Super 14 and Currie Cup. Starting off as a fullback, he was forced to play flyhalf after an injury. But that didn’t stop him from winning the Man of the Match title and being hand-picked to represent his country during the Springboks’ tour to Ireland and the UK. He continued to honour South Africa in the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand (before his 21st birthday), and this year when England toured SA. Not only is he an excellent rugby player, but he has a heart of gold: he regularly visits the LIV Village charity and teaches the kids there how to play the game.
