Gangs of Ballet promise “progressive” sound in new album
Durban alternate band, Gangs of Ballet, plan on shaking things up for their new album. Frontman Brad Klynsmith says they’ll be laying down new tracks early next year and fans can expect a “more progressive sound.”
Speaking at East Coast Radio’s Toy Story with Game Corporate Day Challenge, Brad says they’re super-excited about the new project. “We’re halfway through writing at the moment and fans will be able to get their hands on the new album sort-of midway through 2015.”
Brad adds, “It’s been a hard process writing only because as a band we like the idea of progression. We like to push ourselves in terms of shaking up our sound a bit. So hopefully we’ll sound like we’ve grown up when our new material’s out next year. Having said that though, it’s easier said than done!”
The band has had a rocking year so far, with a MAMA’s win for Best Alternative win and a whopping five SAMA nominations. They’re booked solid at gigs for the rest of the year and plan on taking some time out in January before being fully immersed in the creative process.
