Description
The Moses Mabhida stadium is one of the stadia that hosted the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It is located in Stamford Hill in the Kings Park Sporting Precinct. The stadium is unique and distinct due to its arch of triumph style. It has 1750 columns and 216 beams that supports to the seating panels. The Moses Mabhida stadium has won many prestigious awards for its design, infrastructure, construction, safety and sustainability.
Not only is it used as a Soccer stadium, the design of the stadium makes it possible to hold other sporting events such as Rugby, Cricket and Athletics. The stadium has also been used as a venue for various other forms of events and entertainment such as concerts and can also be used to host different forms of functions.
The Moses Mabhida stadium is equipped with places of refreshments and drinks as well as “hang out spots”. Available here are; Cuba Lounge, Keg & Spear, Nino’s, Sneakers, STS Sports, Subway and a Visitors Centre that has all the information, about the stadium and its facilities and attractions, one may require. Not only is the Moses Mabhida a tourist attraction in itself, it also has a variety of attractions one can indulge in. These are;
Adventure Walk
The southern part of the arch is used for adventure walks. These walks are guided by qualified instructors who provide participants with the safety equipment required for the walk. The walk up and back down the arch consists of roughly 550 steps. The Adventure walk is usually in groups of 10 and people are advised to wear closed shoes!

Big Swing
The Moses Mabhida’s arch also offers an adventure of the largest Big Swing in the world with the length of 220 metres! The big swing only takes one person at a time and people are advised to put on comfortable, closed walking shoes.

Skycar
The Skycar operates on the northern part of the arch. It starts off from the ground level, where the lower Station is located, and travels up along the arch until it reaches the highest point of the arch, which is the second station. At this point, people can disembark and enjoy the view the beautiful city of Durban and also catch magnificent views of the Indian Ocean. Thereafter, people can get back into the Skycar and enjoy the ride back to land as it rolls down gently. Skycar can take up to 20 people.

Stadium Tours
There are three kinds of tours of the Moses Mabhida Stadium; the professional, general tours and school tours.
i) The first one is the professional tour which includes VIP presidential suites, change rooms and the tunnel. This lasts for 90 minutes and done in groups of up to 20 people
i) The general tour is a 30 minutes’ walk around the pitch and usually in groups of up to 20 people
iii) The School tours are on Mondays only and strictly by appointment. Students can be in groups of up to 100.
