PICS: Cold snap brings snow to western parts of SA
Cape Town – The cold snap is in full force from Wednesday, 16 August, bringing snow to parts of SA – and as usual, locals are loving it.
So far, snow has been reported to have fallen in Sutherland in the Northern Cape and Worcester in the Western Cape, with falls expected to make its way across the mountainous parts of the country until Friday.
Snow Report SA says that by Wednesday morning, light snow should have fallen across all the high peaks in the Western Cape and by midday, light falls will possibly extend into the Eastern Cape. By Wednesday evening, Snow Report SA says that the falls should extend from the Western Cape to the Eastern Cape Drakensberg.
On Wednesday night, “snowfalls will intensify in the Eastern Cape” says Snow Report SA, adding that snow will move into Lesotho, south-western parts of KZN and into the KZN Drakensberg.
