People of Khayelitsha work together
The people of Khayelitsha work together with Dr Mathews Phosa in uniting the community and addressing the challenges of Khayelitsha residents and neighboring areas at a series of events on Sunday 11 June 2017.
In partnership with community leaders and social activists, the programme encourages community members to band together to clean up crime, stamp out corruption and work in solidarity to build a strong and stable future for all.
In celebration of Youth Day, the event calls for a restoration of the values of O.R. Tambo as important lessons of morals and ethics to be taught to youth. Paying tribute to the school pupils who lost their lives during the Soweto Youth Uprising on 16 June 1976, Dr Phosa uses history as a tool to promote unity, humanity and citizen action.
