Women in energy sector appeal for funding
Businesswomen in the energy sector have called for more government funding and support to help them open businesses in the oil, petroleum and gas industries.
They were meeting with Energy Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi this weekend.
At the end of Kubayi’s two day visit to Durban, she gave eight destitute families from the Amaoti area in Inanda north of Durban biofuel stoves and solar jars to light their homes.
Kubayi has called on poor people from the area to use safer means of cooking and warming their homes, other than dangerous illegal electricity connections or paraffin stoves.
