Fish Hoek High School is a South African School of Excellence and Purpose,  which inspires and empowers its pupils to achieve their full potential.  We are constantly raising the academic bar, growing in kindness and respect towards each other and intense participation in the life of the school and community.

Our objectives are that our School be characterized by:

• We offer 18 academic subjects to matric, covering all interests and abilities.
• We offer, free of charge, remedial and extra lessons in English, Afrikaans and Mathematics.
• A Christian spiritual orientation and tolerance towards all religious persuasions.
• An exceptional range of sport, cultural and service opportunities: including golf, fencing, recreational walking, in addition to all the traditional sports played competively, Arts Weeks, One Act Plays, large scale school productions, break time jamming, Community Outreach and pupil tutoring.
• Pupil leadership structures in every grade and cutting edge leadership training throughout the school. 250 pupil leadership positions are available.
• A multi-skilled pastoral team consisting of a Social Worker, Guidance Counsellor and two Grade Counsellor’s.

Summer

Boys: Athletics, cricket, water polo, swimming, tennis, basketball, fencing.

Girls: Athletics, swimming, tennis, water polo, fencing, softball.

In addition, ALL learners are expected to take part in athletics during the first term.

Surf-Lifesaving is recognized.

Fish Hoek High School offers a variety of cultural and service activities

Winter

Boys: Rugby, hockey, badminton, soccer, squash, cross-country, golf (selected squad), soccer (squad) surfing (squad), fencing.

Girls: Hockey, netball, badminton, soccer, squash, cross-country, fencing.

Equestrian disciplines are recognized.

Fish Hoek High School offers a variety of cultural and service activities, allowing those learners who are interested in areas other than sport to participate in the life of the school. The following clubs function throughout the year:

Costume and props rooms; Debating; Chess club; Film and Photographic club; Choir; Backstage; Sound; Toastmasters (only terms 1 and 2); Muslim Learners Association (MLA); Front of house; Xhosa club; Librarians; Interact; School of rock; Music Ensemble group; President’s Awards; Christian Union
