5 unusual wedding ideas
Planning a wedding isn’t easy. There’s a never-ending to-do list and you have to find the budget to make it all happen.
Plus, there’s the added pressure of having something special and unique about your day.
You want it to be an event you’ll be proud to remember for the rest of your life.
Here are some ideas to make that happen.
Use your guests as photographers
Having a professional photographer is great and all but you’ll find that even the candid shots come across as being staged. And it’s hard to capture those special moments amongst all the guests. So, why not hand out disposable cameras to all the guests and have them take photographs as well?
An audio guestbook
Instead of having everyone write down their messages in their untidy handwriting, you could have an audio booth. Everyone simply goes in and records a quick message for you and your partner. And then, at the reception, you can play these out between songs so everyone can hear. Just make sure to inform the guests that this will be happening so they don’t say anything inappropriate.
A non-alcoholic wedding reception
This may seem like a terrible idea at first but think about it for a moment. Most of the horror stories you hear about at weddings are due to excessive consumption of alcohol. If you serve virgin cocktails and have a coffee bar at your reception, this won’t happen. And people will thank you the next morning when no one has a hangover.
A picnic for a reception
Do away with the seating chart, lay out some blankets and pillows and let people relax at the reception. You can have a buffet with delicious picnic food and people can decide where they choose to sit. Just make sure to select a stunning location with beautiful lawns. Of course, let people know in advance so they can wear the right kind of clothing and choose appropriate ladies shoes.
A brunch wedding
Why not get married at 9am and have your reception at 10 or 11am? You can have all the regular and yummy brunch items for food and serve champagne and orange juice. Morning wedding are highly underrated. This way people can carry on dancing and stay as late as they like without it ending at 3am. Plus, you can start your honeymoon a little earlier.
