Events for the whole family in Cape Town
It’s the perfect time to be in Cape Town: Winter is slowly leaving, warm days are returning – but not days that result in blistering heat. It’s also just before the rush of Christmas season and school holidays. This makes it an ideal time to spend with your family – so you should consider some of these events in and around Cape Town.
Baby crazy
For example, from Friday, 30 October to Sunday, 1 November 2015, the biggest baby expo in South Africa takes place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. This is the perfect event to attend, especially for young parents.
Creepy cycling
Staying with health and fitness, why not get the family mountain biking on Halloween – when most of the city is at loud parties, get together with loved ones and take a mountain biking tour at night. The benefits could do wonders for mountain biking enthusiasts and families who don’t want to endure the crowds and loud noises. Being out and about on Halloween adds a certain creepiness to an otherwise fun night out for the whole family.
Musical fun
Another very popular event is the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts. Starting in November, the highly popular Freshlyground will kick off the concert festivities that continue all the way through until 2016. The Kirstenbosch Gardens are ideal for any family event or excursions and, given the time of year, it is the perfect time to start making regular trips to see the beautiful grounds renowned the world over.
Of course not everyone is a Cape Town resident. Finding a central location such as a hotel in Greenpoint or Newlands might prove to be necessary, allowing you to easily access the wide variety of activities.
