Best Heritage Day Venues in Cape town 2017
How will you spend your Heritage Day? There are so many diverse ways to celebrate our heritage, but what truly brings us together is a good old fashion Braai – traditionally South African!
Heritage Day encourages us to step back and celebrate the beauty of who we are as a nation. To remind ourselves of our cultures, traditions and beliefs, that makes us proudly South African. Of course there is no better way to celebrate than around an open fire with close friends and family.
Heritage Day was established in a speech by Nelson Mandela, where he recognised South Africa’s rich and varied cultural heritage, which has the profound power to help build the nation.
If you haven’t quite thought about what to do on Heritage Day, why not start with a free Cultural Experience?
Go on a tour of all the historical sights Cape Town has to offer, such as the historical houses, Castle of Good Hope, National Art Gallery, Planetarium, Iziko Maritime Centre and slave lodge!
Iziko Museums offer free entry on Heritage Day, so there’s no reason not to take yourself and loved ones on an educational outing.
