Discover Mountain Bike Riding on the Dolphin Coast
MountMountain Bike (MTB) has taken the world by storm. Discover why so many are ditching immaculate Golf Greens for the rough and dusty trails through the Dolphin Coast Sugarcane Farms…
Are you an outdoor sort of person but shudder at the notion of physical effort? Mountain Bike Riding could offer a fun, enjoyable and less strenuous option to explore the great outdoors than you expected…
Although many take to the sport for the adrenalin racing extremes certain trails offer, many also fall in love with the sport for the unexpected side effects:
1. Stress-less: the simple mechanics of keeping a bicycle in forward motion takes precedence over the ongoing chatter in the mind regarding a report due at work or domestic differences of opinion at home. A short bike ride can be a million mile mind journey away from worries and cares.
2. Sense of Freedom: The first time a child masters a bicycle is often a defining moment in his/her childhood. That moment of initial elation is often reignited on a bike ride, giving a sense of freedom like no other.
3. A Sport from very young into the senior years: The fluid motion of cycling makes this an excellent activity into the senior years. Unlike impacting sports, cycling is gentle on the joints and is enjoyed by many well in to their 70’s.
4. Cosmopolitan Social Interaction: Trails attract a wide variety of people from different walks of life. Making new friends while trail riding is a unexpected by-product of the sport.
5. Pounds Lost, passionately: Exercise without the sweat and grind and watch the centimeters melt from the middle…With so much more to draw your attention (majestic natural scenery, camaraderie of friends and family on the trail with you, challenging gear changes on uneven terrain) it is easy to forget the amount of exercise you are actually doing. You may be surprised at how effectively it trims away excess fat stores.
Plan your Trail:
Select easier routes for a gentle, more enjoyable ride offering the space to get off your bike and walk if need be. Try new routes with alternate turn-offs to make it interesting or take the time to savor the natural surroundings you find yourself in.
