Welgekozen Country Lodge is located 500m outside of Piet Retief, a town located in Mpumalanga.
This 4 star graded establishment is situated on an 8ha property close to the Swaziland border. The lodge is set in a beautiful garden filled with oak trees. There is a bar with fireplace on the premises and laundry and babysitting services are provided. A swimming pool and braai facilities are available. 2 communal lounges can be utilized, 1 with DSTV and the other an indoor fireplace. Conference, fax and internet facilities are available and secure parking is provided on the premises. An English or continental breakfast is served in the dining room and dinner is available by prior arrangement.
Activities include bird watching, fishing and golf. Walk through the tranquil gardens or visit the tree plantation just outside of town. Piet Retief is an historical town with monuments and places of interest. Welgekozen Country Lodge is an ideal stopover for travelers between Gauteng, Natal and The Kruger National Park.
The lodge offers 10 double rooms with en-suite bathrooms consisting of either a shower or bath. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, heater and TV with DSTV. The individually decorated rooms are spacious and offer comfortable accommodation.
Travel from Johannesburg on the N12 towards Witbank & Middelburg. Pass Witbank and take the Hendrina/ Middelburg off-ramp. Travel on the N11 through Hendrina to Ermelo. Travel on the N2 to Piet Retief. We are 200m before Piet Retief on the right hand side, diagonally across from the Sasol Garage and the Spur Restaurant. We are 6.5 km from Mondi/PG Bison.
Travel from Durban on the N2 and pass Richards Bay, Hluhluwe and Pongola. Welgekozen Country Lodge is 200m outside of Piet Retief on the N2 travelling towards Ermelo. We are on the left-hand side, diagonally across from the Sasol Garage and the Spur Restaurant.
