Florence Guest Farm, Chrissiesmeer, Mpumalanga
Florence Guest Farm is located 5km’s outside of Chrissiesmeer, a small hamlet in Mpumalanga in the “Lake District” of South Africa.
The guest farm offers accommodation on a dinner, bed and breakfast, self catering or bed and breakfast only basis. All meals are served in the dining room. There is a lounge and cash bar available in the guest house. Under cover parking and braai facilities are available.
A ‘frogging’ Safari is a new attraction to the area where visitors will be taken out with a guide to identify the different species of frogs. Fly fishing can be enjoyed in lakes or dams in the area. Lloyd Safari’s offers hunting packages with a professional hunter. Pack a picnic or prepare for a braai and enjoy a day at McCorkindale’s Cave. Other activities include cycling, canoeing or horse riding and hiking through the trails in the area.
Accommodation consists of 3 lovely rooms in the main house and 4 cottages/ rondawels separate to the main house, all sleeping between 2 and 6 people. All rooms are en-suite and have private entrances with views of the garden. Tea and coffee making facilities, TV and radio are provided. The cottages/ rondawels have their own living room and equipped kitchen for self catering purposes.
From Johannesburg travel along the N12 towards Middelburg (If travelling from Pretoria, take the N4 to Witbank) Pass Middelburg and drive for another 40km’s along the N4. About 40km’s from Middelburg, still on the N4, at Wonderfontein (where you see street lights on the highway) turn right on the R33 to Carolina (40km). Drive straight through the town, at the end of the town you will cross a railway line, turn immediately right on the R33 Amsterdam road. Drive for 4km’s and turn right to Chrissiesmeer (20km). At the stop in Chrissiesmeer turn left (N17) and drive for 5 km’s. You will see the Florence Guest Farm signs on your left.
